The Royal Netherlands Navy Technical Training School (KMTO) and Maritime Capacity Alliance (MCA) are jointly recruiting students for the 4-year civil-military Marine Technician (MBO4) course, which will start on September 1, 2022.
Entry requirements to this degree program:
· A vmbo-k, -g or -t diploma or;
· A transition certificate to havo 4 or vwo 4 or;
· An MBO diploma level 2 or 3.
During the civil-military Marine Technician training, the student first follows the basic training Maritime Officer for all ships for 2 years at the nautical schools and training institutes affiliated with the MCA. After this training, the student can choose to sail a 180-day internship and thus obtain his/her certificate of competency.
After successfully completing the basic training, the student continues after 2 years at the Royal Marine Technical Training School in Den Helder. After completing the full training, the student receives an MBO4 diploma and the well-trained Marine Technician can go sailing or work at the Directorate of Material Maintenance (DMI) in Den Helder in Den Helder.
